The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been named one of 100 Global Thinkers by the iconic Washington-based journal, Foreign Policy.

The leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance party (APGA), and former leader of the defunct Biafra, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu has been confirmed dead.

The Ikemba, who has been receiving treatment in a hospital in the United Kingdon since he suffered a stroke in December 2010, died on Friday night.

Alison-Madueke answered no question conclusively- a move noted by the lawmakers - on details of how government subsidies on fuel products have been managed for years.

Investigation by this writer showed that few students have Mathematics and English Language textbooks as a result of the importance teachers and parents attach to them. It is not an exaggeration that out of ten randomly picked students, only three or four have Mathematics or English Textbooks not to mention other subjects’ textbooks whose possession have become very rare.

Kidnapped priest released

Catholic priest kidnapped just over a week ago was released last night.
The police in Enugu State have announced that a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chijioke Amoke, who was abducted by unknown gunmen eight days ago, has been released.
Amoke is the parish priest at the Onitsha-Enugu-Ezike Catholic Parish in Igbobeze North Local Government Area of the state.

Auctioned power projects’ equipment recovered, says Ngige

SENATOR Chris Ngige has revealed that 17 of the 22 containers of the Power Holding Company Plc (PHCN) which were wrongly auctioned at the ports as overstayed goods have been recovered.
The lawmakers said efforts had been intensified to recover the remaining five containers.
Ngige also said steel rolling mills in Ajaokuta, Itakpe and Jos would soon bounce back to life as the National Assembly had taken steps to put them on stream.

NRC set to commence goods haulage across Nigeria

Nigerian Railway CorporationThe Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is set to commence the haulage of petroleum products and agricultural produce across the country, the Minister of Transport, Alhaji Idris Umar, has said.
The minister disclosed this in Ilorin, on Tuesday, at the flag off of the Ilorin-Lagos weekly passenger train service and the launch of the Ewekoro-Ilorin weekly cement haulage.
